At its July 10 Galaxy Unpacked presentation, Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy Buds 3 series in addition to a few other new items, such as the sixth generation of Galaxy foldables. The new Galaxy Buds 3 series headphones have already surfaced online ahead of the presentation. However, is the change from the bean-shaped design to the stemmed one merely for a new aesthetic, or is there a connection to the earphones' sound quality?
Regarding design, the Pro model differs from all other TWS earbuds in the stem design thanks to its unique triangular stem and LED strip. A 30-hour battery life and new gestures are allegedly features of the Buds 3 Pro. It's also probably going to use Bluetooth 5.4 to transmit music and include ambient sound, adaptive ANC, and an adaptive equalizer.
It's reasonable to state that leaks and rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are picking up steam before July 10. That also applies to the regular Samsung Galaxy Buds 3, which might make an appearance if the most recent June leaks are any indication. We do have some suggestions for how Samsung may enhance the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro wireless earphones, which are already rather good despite having a mediocre battery life, as we wait for additional information from the rumor mill.
1. Bolder, more captivating hues These days, wireless earbuds serve as fashion accessories in addition to being devices for listening to music. The somewhat intriguing bora purple hue was available for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in addition to the more conventional black and white selections, but we believe that the device is capable of more. Why not the wireless earphones from Samsung? The company's phones are already quite colorful.
2: Enhanced longevity of batteries Naturally, the most common request for any new wireless earphone is longer battery life. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro's five-hour charge time between charges while active noise cancellation is on isn't terrific, but with the case, that can reach eighteen hours. Hopefully, Samsung can use technology to its advantage and extend that period of time even further.
3. Better artificial intelligence Though we believe Samsung can do better, you can converse with Bixby via the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Our hope is that Samsung's AI capabilities, which are abundant in their most recent phones, will be carried over to the next Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which will provide you with an AI assistant that is both intelligent and competent and is integrated into your earbuds. 4. The identical cost We hope that Samsung is able to keep the price of the Galaxy Buds Pro series around $229, £219, or AU$349, even if we don't mind paying more for quality and recognize that obtaining the best technology to work in such a small space is a costly matter. In contrast, the price of the AirPods Pro 2 is $249 (AU$399).
5. Personalized noise reduction A wishlist for new wireless earbuds should always include better audio, but we'll still bring it up. Specifically, we wish the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro's active noise cancellation had a little more refinement like some competitors do (for more information, see our evaluation of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2). Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have been circulating since late April 2024. One such rumor dates back to June 25 and was posted on the official Samsung forums (of all places!) by user AffinityNexa. It shows what appears to be the Buds 3 Pro's case, which has a transparent (definitely nothing-y) lid. There is also a leak from June 27. Renowned industry leaker Evan Blass uploaded brand-new, high-resolution images of two Galaxy Buds and two Galaxy Watch variants on X, a website that was formerly known as Twitter.
